Description:
The fine structure of the valve, especially the possession of a deflected raphe canal, is similar to that of Nitzschia hantzschiana; valve dimensions, and fibulae and striae count in 10µm, corresponds to that of Nitzschia perminuta (linear-lanceolate to linear valve shape tapering to weakly rounded apices, 10-16 fibulae in 10µm, 8-45µm in length, 2.3-3µm in breadth); striae count is usually 27-34 in 10µm
