Description:
Frustule is weakly sigmoid, linear-lanceolate in girdle view, gradually narrowing towards the ends; valve is usually linear-lanceolate with weakly sigmoid or straight apical axis and broadly rounded ends; keel is marginal, weakly deflected in the valve centre, with 8-11 fibulae in 10µm (the central two are distinctly further apart than the others); transapical striae are very faint; length is 20-100µm, breadth is 4-6µm; striae count is about 36 in 10µm
