Description:
Valves semi-elliptic with protracted capitate ends. Dorsal margin convex; ventral margin slightly concave. Raphe branches straight; proximal and distal ends bent dorsally. Dorsal striae slightly radiate crossed by longitudinal costa at the central portion of the valve. Ventral striae not resolvable under LM.
Notes:
Common in coastal mangroves near Biscayne Bay at sites with shallow water (< 0.5m) and salinity ranging between 20 – 30ppt, and on seagrass at Sprigger Bank, Florida Bay where water depth is < 2m and salinity varies between 30 – 35ppt.
