Description:
Valves semi-elliptic with protracted rostrate to sub-capitate ends. Dorsal margin convex, slightly fattened at the center. Ventral margin straight. Raphe branches straight, proximal and distal ends deflected dorsally. Axial area narrow, linear. Central area transversely expandedin form of rectangular fascia reaching the middle portion of the dorsal part of the valve. Dorsal striae composed of series of transapical dash-like openings, slightly radiate, interrupted at the center by a transapical fascia and longitudinal hyaline areas. Ventral striae not resolvable under LM.
Notes:
Found in surface sediments at Sprigger Bank, Florida Bay with water depth < 2m and salinity ranging between 30 - 40ppt
