Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate with rostrate ends slightly deflected ventrally. Dorsal margin convex; ventral margin straight. Raphe branches straight, proximal and distal ends deflected dorsally. Axial area narrow on the dorsal side, somewhat more expanded on the ventral side. Central nodule easily visible under LM. Dorsal striae parallel becoming slightly radiate towards the ends; ventral striae delicate, parallel, moderately long, shorter at the center.
Notes:
Commonly recorded in surface sediment samples collected from several locations in Florida Bay at sites with water depth < 2m and salinity ranging between 25 - 35ppt.
