Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate with protracted capitate ends slightly deflected towards the ventral side. Dorsal margin convex sometimes flattened at the central part, ventral margin straight to gently concave. Raphe branches straight. Proximal and distal ends deflected dorsally. Conopeum present and clearly visible in all specimens. Axial area narrow, linear; central area absent on the dorsal side, on the ventral side bordered by ventral striae. Dorsal striae straight at the center becoming radiate towards the ends. Ventral striae short, dash-like, uninterrupted at the center.
Notes:
Commonly recorded in coastal mangroves near Biscayne Bay from sites with salinity 20 – 30ppt and water level < 0.5m. Occasionally found in samples collected from Biscayne Bay and Florida Bay.
